Error description

  • Currently, there is no way to determine the progress of the
Consistency Check task. It is not uncommon for the Consistency
Check to take as long as five or
six hours on a large database. Domino admin have asked the
following questions about the Consistency Check:

    1. How can we stop the Consistency Check?
    2. How long does a Consistency Check usually take?
    3. Is it possible that the Consistency Check task has hung?
    4. We need to access the database, but the Consistency Check
has locked the database. Is there any way to access the
database while the Consistency Check is running?
    5. So, when a Consistency Check is running, our only real
option is to just "wait it out"?

When a Consistency Check is run on a big/important database,
that database is inaccessible. Quite often, this
inaccessibility is very bad for a company. If the Domino Admin
was able to find out the progress of the Consistency Check, then
he could more effectively make plans. As it is, he just has to
sit and wait for the Consistency Check to finish. That is very
inefficient and causes a loss of productivity.

A progress meter for the Consistency Check task would be very
    useful.
