APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a bracket is initiated with a BID, then a subsequent FM
Data RU is received needing a definite response, the RUI_WRITE
issued to generate the positive response, although issued
correctly, is modified internally to improperly set the DFC and
FI flags in the RH header, causing the response to be rejected
with an UNBIND with sense code 10020000 "RU Length Error".

Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED: Applications using the RUI_PRIMARY LUA API.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Trace shows:
SND>> BID RQD1 DFC FI BC EC
    <<RCV BID +RSP DFC FI
SND>> FMD RQD1 FMD BB CD BC EC
    <<RCV FMD +RSP FMD

    SND>> ? +RSP DFC FI
    <<RCV UNBIND RQD1 10020000
    SND>> UNBIND +RSP

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
In an API trace, the application issues a RUI_WRITE with a
correct +RSP to the FMD, but internal processing changes it to a
    DFC +RSP.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been changed to correct the processing of the
    RUI_PRIMARY DFC responses.
