APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Some unicode characters provided in JSON requests are considered
    invalid and
cause the API request to fail. This is caused by the internal
    representation of the
JSON request using JSONX and these characters, although valid in
    JSON, are
    invalid in XML.

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • Where the API Connect processing generated an XML representation
of the JSON data (JSONX), this generation would fail when the
data contained illegal XML characters. These errors are now
caught and these characters are escaped in the JSONX to allow
these payloads not to cause a transaction failure.

Problem conclusion

delivered in the API Connect v5.0.8.7-ifix,
    v5.0.8.8,</span><span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255,
