Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to execute ETL jobs from Cognos Data Manager using IBM Rational Insight results in "DM-EXP-0003 An expression validation error occurred at position 188 Unknown variable '$DeltaLoad'" error.
Symptom
The Data Manager log (<Insight Install Directory\Cognos\DataManager\log) contains the following error: COGNOS INTERNAL USE ONLY jobstream -- start run on <server_hostname> (22-Dec-2010 23:27:54) [PROGRESS - 23:28:06] Procedure Node 24 'preparevar'; reported the following:

Unknown variable '$DeltaLoad'.

Cause
The error is caused by executing a stand-alone job rather than executing the job from the "OOTBE2E" (Out of the Box End to End) job.
Resolving The Problem
The job must be executed from the OOTBE2E job to avoid this error. You may duplicate the job or run the job as-is if you have configured all products with IBM Rational Insight. If you have not configured all products included in the job with Insight, the products you have not configured will result in additional errors when executing this job. Exclude any jobs that you have not yet configured by double-clicking a job and selecting "Exclude this node from processing".
