Problem
The SAP Adapter throws an error, reporting 'ERROR: max no of 100 conversations exceeded'. This error persists until the Adapter instance is recycled.

Cause
SAP's Remote Function Call SDK has a default limit of 100 open conversations being open at a single time. If this limit is exceeded the error above is thrown.
Resolving The Problem
This issue can be resolved by the application of an OS level environmental variable called, 'CPIC_MAX_CONV'. This environmental variable can be set to an integer value denoting the new max number of conversations. Consult your SAP BASIS Administrators to determine the correct value to use. This environmental variable also needs to be applied to every machine in your extended SAP landscape, including the machine hosting the SAP Adapter.
SAP Notes recommend trying the following value first:
CPIC_MAX_CONV == 500
