Error description
Communications Server for Data Center Deployment, V7 Communications Server for AIX, V6.4 Communications Server for Linux, V6.4 Communications Server for Linux on System z, V6.4 ---------------------------------------------------- When a remote API client sends an invalid REGISTER message to a server, the server may become confused and drop out of the client/server domain.
Local fix
Stop/restart the affected server.
Problem summary
The client/server module could receive a malformed message from a client that would cause the server to overwrite an internal structure. The sympton is that the server would lose its status as a working node in a domain. Other servers in the domain would recognize the server, but the server would not see itself as a member of the domain. This could cause client sessions to fail due to the server not having full awareness of the domain topology.
Problem conclusion
Code has been corrected to prevent this error.
