LI78691: PASSWORD CANNOT CONTAIN MORE THAN 2 CONSECUTIVE REPEATING CHARACTERS

Error description

• When setting passwords for users or when performing a plan
  disconnected deployment, the password field is giving below
  error.
  
  Here is the text when it validates
  
  Passwords must contain eight or more characters, with at least
  one character from three of the following categories:
  Lowercase letters
  Uppercase letters
  Numeric digits
  Punctuation (e.g. !, $, #, %)
  
  The password being specified conforms to the above requirements.

Problem summary

• When setting passwords for users or when performing a plan
  disconnected deployment, the password field is giving below
  error.
  
  Passwords must contain eight or more characters, with at least
  one character from three of the following categories:
  Lowercase letters
  Uppercase letters
  Numeric digits
  Punctuation (e.g. !, $, #, %)
  
  The password being specified conforms to the above requirements.
  
  The problem was a documentation / error message issue.
  The checks and enforcement here is correct, however, we were not
  detailing all of the validation being performed.
  The error message will be updated to include three more
  conditions that are validated, but not currently included in the
  informational message.
  
  1. Password can not be empty
  2. Password can not have 3 consecutive characters of username
  3. Password can not have more than 2 consecutive repeating
  characters
  

Problem conclusion

• The fix is targeted for inclusion in IBM API Connect
