Error: "TX Lockup Detected" on GX appliances

Troubleshooting


Problem

Users may see "TX Lockup Detected" messages and latency or packet loss on certain GX appliances.

Symptom

The following message will appear in the syslog (/var/log/messages):

drivermgr[xxx]: E1000: Port X - TX LOCKUP detected; restarting

The security interface will then be reset and the link to this port will be brought down then back up. It is possible for this security interface to be in an error state after the reset.
