Problem
The error "Fatal error from XML_parse(): BAD_CHAR_REF" occurs when importing data from old databases in IBM Rational ClearQuest.
Symptom
You use the import and export utility found in ClearQuest Eclipse Client. You export data from a old database with an unknown code page. You import that data into another database. When records with attachments are being imported, this error occurs:
