Error description

  • When compiling source code, the following internal compiler
    error is occurring when using -qsimd=auto:
    
    
    $ xlC -O3 -qhot -qsimd=auto -qmaxmem=-1 -qarch=pwr7 -qtune=pwr7
    -qcache=auto -c test.cpp
    
    Calling signal handler...
    1586-494 (U) INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR: Signal 11.
    

Local fix

  • Do not use -qsimd=auto
    

Problem summary

  • PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Internal compiler error when simdizing code with a specific
    pattern (stores to adjacent memory location from different
    memory locations, as well as other conditions).
    
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users who turn on simd with -qsimd=auto
    

Problem conclusion

  • The issue was corrected.
