JR58543: ADD COLUMN HANDLED INCORRECTLY WHEN UNSUBSCRIBED COLUMNS ARE DROPPED

APAR status

Error description

• If you drop columns from a Q Replication source table that
  are not part of a Q subscription and then add new columns
  to the table, and the REPL_ADDCOL=Y option is specified
  to automatically replicate ADD COLUMN operations,
  replication for the source table stops with an ASN7004E
  error (Q Capture unable to find new columns).
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Information about unsubscribed columns is cached in memory
  and in the IBMQREP_COLVERSION control table. When these
  columns are dropped, the information about them is not
  deleted. Q Capture fails to find newly added columns by
  their column number because the numbering sequence now
  differs between the saved column data and the actual
  schema of the source table.
  

Problem conclusion

• With this fix, Q Capture searches for newly added columns
  by name rather than number so the problem no longer occurs.
  .
  This fix is not available in Db2 10.5 FP10.  It will be
  available in a later fixpak.
