Installation error -5004 when attempting to install a Windows fixpack to Rational Synergy client

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to install a Windows fixpack results in "Error Code: -5004" and the fixpack fails to install in IBM Rational Synergy.

Symptom

When installing a fix pack to the Rational Synergy client on windows it fails. Here is an example of two errors seen with this:
