LO78775: CAN NOT QUIT NOTES CLIENT EVEN THOUGH USER PASSWORD DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS

Error description

  • Notes/Domino 9.0.1
    
    
    1. Register Test 001/ND901 user.
    -password: lotus
    
    2. Administrator create a security policy.
    
    -Use custom password: yes
    -[custom password policy] tab
    --Password length minimum: 10
    --Password length maximum: 20
    
    Note: any other fields is set as default.
    
    3. Administrator applies the security policy to Test 001/ND901
    4. Test 001/ND901 launch Notes 9.x
    5. Access to any database on server.
    6. Restart Notes client.
    7. Enter Test 001's password.
    8 Hit on [OK] button on "Password does not meet length
    requirement." dialogue.
    9. Hit on [cancel] button on "change password" dialogue
    10. Hit on [OK] button on "Your current password does not meet
    the requirements set by your administrator. Notes is shutting
    down. You will be prompted to set a password the next time you
    start Notes." dialogue.
    
    
    In the case of Basic client:
    
    You can still access to any databases on server as notes window
    is NOT closed after all steps.
    
    
    In the case of Standard client:
    
    Notes window is closed after "Notes is shutting down" message
    appears as expected, however you can not launch notes client
    again because nlnotes.exe and notes2.exe are still running.

    So you need to have nsd.exe -kill command to kill notes
    processes.
