Error description

  • Environment:
    Domino Server: 8.5.2 with Traditional Chinese Language package
    Notes Client: 8.5.2 Traditional Chinese
    
    Reproducible steps:
    1. Set server configuration document -- Basic, enable
    "International MIME Settings for this document"
    
    2. Set server configuration document -- MIME -- Settings by
    Character Set Groups, enable
    "For outbound message options below use all possible choices
    (Advanced users)".
    MIME settings by character set group: Traditional Chinese
    
    Outbound Message Options:
    Header: UTF-8 Base64
    Body: UTF-8 Base64
    
    3. Set server configuration document -- MIME -- Advanced --
    Advanced Outbound Message Options:
    When converting a multilingual message to MIME: Send it in
    Unicode (UTF8)
    Character set name aliases: ISO-2022-JP maps to UTF-8
    
    4. Send mail from Notes Client to any internet ID(SMTP mail)
    with Traditional Chinese
    and Japanese subject
    
    5. The subject is garbage in received mail.
    

Local fix

  • Send memo with selecting Delivery Option->Advanced->
    MIME character set:
    Unicode (UTF8)
