Error description

  • When a chair removes an attendee on device, the chair receives
an accept reply from the removed attendee and "View Invitee
Status" shows removed attendee under an "Unknown" category.
Here are the steps to recreate:
    1) (Notes) UserA creates a meeting and invites UserB and UserC
    2) (device) UserA removes UserB before UserB accepts the
    meeting
    3) (device) UserB syncs device
    4) (Notes) After a 2 minute delay, the chair receives an
    accept reply from UserB.
    5) (Notes) If the chair selects "View Invitee Status", User B
will be displayed in an "Unknown" category.
The reason "View Invitee Status" does not work is due to
Traveler not maintaining the "Uninvited" field on the meeting
document. This fix changes Traveler to maintain this field for
non-repeating meetings only. Support for repeating meetings
should be included in the next release with support for EAS
    14.1.
The reason the chair is getting the Accept reply from the
removed attendee is because Traveler autoprocesses any previous
notices. Traveler must accept the original notice in order to
allow that attendee to be re-added in the future. This fix
changes Traveler to not send the Accept reply to the chair even
though it is accepted by Traveler automatically.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Notes Traveler autoprocessing will accept the notice then remove
them. This generates the extra accept notice when an attendee
    is removed.

Problem conclusion

  • The Notes Traveler server has been updated to handle this
    scenario.
