LO74406: ABNORMAL TERMINATION OF MMC.EXE RESULTS IN TASKS NOT QUITTING, SERVER HANG ON SHUTDOWN.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • We have now seen 4 PMR's (different customers) where after
    MMC.EXE terminates abnormally, Domino tasks will not unload.  A
    frequent example is nchronos as it runs hourly and never exits,
    resulting in numerous concurrent nchronos tasks.  This is
    occurring on Win64 and Domino 853FP3.

Local fix

  • Shutdown forced by shutdown monitor.
