APAR status

Error description

  • One user has some calendar entries which are accepted by
    the
    invitees. You can see the calendar entry and according 'accept
    response' documents in user's mail file. However when user open
    the calendar
    entry and click the 'invitee status', you will see the invitees
    who
    have accepted the invitation show 'no response'.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Prior to Notes Traveler 9.0.0.1 Active Sync devices (Apple,
    Black Berry, Windows Phone and Windows Pro) would send updates
    to meetings that could wipe out Attendee Status on the
    server copy of the meeting.  This was only an issue for
     if the event was updated by the meeting
    chair from an Active Sync device.
    
    Note that it was found that BB10 devices would often send
    updates from the device even if the chair made no changes, so
    this issue was seen much more frequently with BB10 devices.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The actual problem was that the ActiveSync protocol did not
    handle event sequence numbers correctly.  As a result
    the Notes Client could not corelate the Attendee Status to the
    updated events.  The fix for this issue was a multi
    step process which required several code changes and required a
    server upgrade to ActiveSync protocol
    14.1 which handled these kinds of updates in more manageable
    fashion.
