LO63663: UNABLE TO COPY AND PASTE ATTACHMENTS FROM OUTLOOK 2010 TO NOTES

APAR status

• Closed as user error.

Error description

• Steps to reproduce:
  
  1. Open a mail message or create a new message in Outlook 2010
  with an attachment in the
  body of the message (to place the attachment in the body of a
  new message in Outlook, first go to File - Options - Mail -
  Compose Messages in this format - Rich Text. When you attach a
  document, it will then attach to the body of the message, not
  the subject.)
  
  2. Right click on the attachment in the Outlook message, hit
  Copy.
  
  3. Go to a new message in Notes, edit - paste special. Notice
  how there are 5 options:
  
      <blank>
      Rich Text
      HTML
      bitmap
      Device independent bitmap
  
  None of these options actually paste the attachment into the
  message, only a picture of it. If you select the <blank> line,
  you get the error:
  
      "OLE Object failed to supply data [IDataObject->GetData()]
  

Local fix

• Copy/save the attachment out of the Outlook message first, then
  attach it to the Notes message
