Error description

  • To be able to install the Notes 8.5.2 client, the old
installation needs to be
removed.
But it errors with:
"File C:\Program Files\lotus\notes\framework\.provisioning_rc
not found.
Provisioning process failed to launch or was stopped before
status could be
determined."

It does not matter whether the de-installation is launched by OS
SYSTEM account
or from "Control Panel\Add and Remove Software"

Local fix

  • De-install and accept error message. Delete manually the program
folder before launching the new
setup.exe
