Problem

Problems while enabling Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox browser environment for testing application on Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) compliant Microsoft Windows.

Resolving The Problem

You must perform the following workaround to enable the browser environment for testing:

To enable the Internet Explorer 7 and 8 browser:

1. Click Start ->Run. In the Run window type regedit
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Enable Browser Extensions
3. Enable the third party browser extensions

Note: Ensure that the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) corresponding to Internet Explorer 7 and 8 is properly enabled and aligned with the browser.

Enabling IE 7 , IE8 workaround is not required when you enable this browser in Rational Functional Tester 8.1.1.2.

To enable the Firefox browser:

1. Click Tools -> Add-Ons
2. Go to <Rational Functional Tester version 8.1 install directory>\FunctionalTester\bin\enabler
3. Drag and drop the below mentioned enabler files into Add-ons in Firefox
RtxFFEnabler.xpi (for Firefox 2.0) ,
RtxFF3Enabler.xpi (for Firefox 3.0) ,
RtxFF35Enabler.xpi( for FireFox 3.5),
RtxFF36Enabler.xpi(for FireFox 3.6)
RtxFF4Enabler.xpi(for FireFox 4.0)
RtxFF5Enabler.xpi(for FireFox 5.0)
RtxFF6Enabler.xpi(for FireFox 6.0)

C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\SDP\FunctionalTester\bin\enabler
in Win7, Win Vista & 64 bit Windows OS.
C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP\FunctionalTester\bin\enabler for 32 bit OS.

4. Click Install
