Error description

  • When User access the mail file in iNotes and add Follow Up flag
    to few mails in
    the Inbox. User has server based archive enabled. When archive
    the mail from the
    inbox,  mails tagged with the Follow Up flag is also archived.
    Issue reproduced with iNotes version 8.5, 8.5.1 & 8.5.2
    
    steps to reproduce the issue:
    
    1.Login iNotes and add Follow Up flag to few mail from the
    inbox.
    2.Select the document with the Follow Up flag from the iNotes
    and archive, then
    we could observe that document is getting archived.
    The Same document can be archived from the Notes client as well.
    Document
    properties of this document doesn't contain $Nopurge field.
    
    
    3.Access the Notes client and add the Follow Up flag to any
    document then
    $Nopurge filed is getting added hence though the document is
    archived but the
    document still present in the Inbox view.
    
    
    
    
    When archiving the above document receiving the below error
    message from
    the Notes and iNotes client.
    
    Result : The follow up mail is also archive to the archive
    database on the
    server and the mail is remove from the Inbox view from iNotes.
    
    Question is why this mail is remove from Inbox view and why the
    $Nopurge field
    is not getting added to the document when the Follow Up flag is
    tagged from the
    iNotes.
    
    If user try to archive using Lotus Notes client, the Follow Up
    mail will be
    archived but the follow up mail still exist in Inbox and there
    is a prompt
    "Notes error: Some of the selected documents were not deleted
    because they are
    still required in this database" to indicate this.
