LO57317: "UNABLE TO FIND THE PATH TO SERVER" ERROR OCCURS WHEN A MAIL DATABASE IS ARCHIVED TO LOCAL.

APAR status

Error description

  • 1. Launch Notes client 8.5.2 for Japanese.
    2. Select [File] - [Preferences...] - "Regional Settings"
    3. Change the setting of "Interface Language" to "Japanese"
    4. Restart Notes Client.
    5. Open own mail database.
    6. Execute [Actions] - [Archive] - [Settings...], and then open
    [Basics] section.
    7. Set "Notes Client based to" to "Local"
    Note: Actually, "Local" is shown in DBCS(Japanese) here
    
    8. Open [Criteria] section, and then configure "Archive
    Criteria".
    
    ex)
    
    Descriptive name of these archive criteria
    -ArchveTest01
    Enable this criteria
    -Checked
    Copy documents into my archive application specified here, then
    clean up this application
    -archive\a_maildb.nsf
    Remove archived documents from this application
    -Checked
    
    Selection Criteria
    -"older than"
    -"0"
    -"days"
    -Only in these views or folders - "Inbox"
    
    9. Select some mail documents from inbox folder
    10. Execute [Actions] - [Archive] - [Archiving Selected
    Documents]
    
    You will find that "Unable to find the path to server" error
    appears on notes status bar.
    

Local fix

  • In step 7, change "Local" in DBCS Japanese to SBCS English.
