LO51531: PREVIEW FAILS IF TCP PORT SET TO REDIRECT TO SSL: THIS SERVER'S HTTP PORT IS DISABLED PLEASE PREVIEW USING A LOCAL REPLICA

APAR status

Error description

• Using Lotus Domino Designer, you open a design element on a
  Domino server and select Design --> Preview In Web Browser. The
  following error message displays:
  
  "This server's HTTP port is disabled, please preview using a
  local replica."
  
  This occurs when the TCP Port for HTTP is set to "Redirect to
  SSL". If you use a browser to access that server or database
  using HTTP, the URL correctly gets redirected to the SSL port.
  
  This issue was previously reviewed in SPR # DMKA4FWK7P and was
  closed as a software limitation, but there is a workaround
  available. Please see the following technote for more
  information:

  This SPR was created to track customer demand, since additional
  occurrences cannot be documented against SPR # DMKA4FWK7P
  

Local fix

• 1) Create a local replica of the database. When working with a
  local replica, previewing design elements in a browser is
  handled by a local web engine, executed automatically by the
  Designer client on the workstation.
  
  2) Move the database to a dedicated development server that
  does not require HTTP traffic to be encrypted, then ensure that
  the HTTP port (80) is set to "Enabled" in the server document
  for this server, instead of "Redirect to SSL"
