"SECJ0270E: ... LDAP: error code 49" during startup

Troubleshooting


Problem

The credentials used by WebSphere Application Server to bind to the LDAP are invalid.

Symptom

SystemOut.log contains:

... ContextManage E   SECJ0270E: Failed to get actual credentials. The exception is javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - LDAP Error 49 : [LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials]]

Resolving The Problem

Update these credentials by following the InfoCenter's instructions changing the LDAP bind password for a standalone LDAP user registry.
