OW29426: ADD WARNING MESSAGE ON TRUNCATION OF BLANKS FROM VARIABLE LENGTH RECORDS IN THE ISPF EDITOR

Error description

• This APAR will add a message to the ISPF Editor to warn users
  when saving data will result in blanks being stripped off the
  ends of variable length records.

  *                      the ISPF editor will strip blanks off   *
  *                      the end of variable records.            *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  As documented in the ISPF Edit and Edit Macros manual, the ISPF
  editor will strip trailing blanks off all records of a RECFM=V
  file when the file is saved.  A warning message should be given
  to allow the user to leave edit without having the data
  modified.
  

Problem conclusion

• This APAR adds a warning message to be displayed on entry to
  edit when one or more records ends with blanks.  The message
  warns that these blanks will be stripped off if the data is
  saved.  This message may be suppressed by setting the EDITVBWARN
  field in the ISPF Configuration table (SISPSAMP member ISRCNFIG)
  to NO.
