OW27525: UNABLE TO DISPLAY GIF89A FORMAT IMAGE FILES IN WORKSTATION AGENT PANELS

Error description

• If a panel contains a reference to a GIF89a format image,the
  panel is shown without the graphic on the workstation agent
  window.
  There is no error or informal message coming up.
  GIF87a format image files are shown correctly.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR contains two reported         *
  *                      problems. They are as follows:          *
  *                                                              *
  *                      1) Using ISPF in GUI Display mode does  *
  *                      not allow GIF89A format IMAGE files to  *
  *                      display even though GIF87A format IMAGE *
  *                      files do display.                       *
  *                                                              *
  *                      2) When using the ISPF FILESTAT command *
  *                      to return the date of a workstation     *
  *                      file. The MONTH is returned incorrectly *
  *                      under the Windows 3.1 operation system. *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF.                               *

Problem conclusion

• This APAR OW27525 corrects 2 reported problems. They are as
  follows:
  
  1) ISPF GUI display mode will now display GIF89A format
  Image files.
  
  2) When connected to the ISPF Workstation Agent running
  the Windows operating system the ISPF FILESTAT command will
  return the correct MONTH value for a workstation file.
