Error description

  • Option 3.4 Data Set List Utility does not display accurate
information for a multivolume data set that spans more than
twenty - 20 volumes. The current design of OPT3.4 uses the
CAMLST form of LOCATE. A maximum of 20 volume entries will
fit into Locate's ouput area. The information for the 21'st
thru the nn volume(s) are not used in the space calcualations
    by Option 3.4 .
Similar changes are required for options 3.1 and 3.2
    .

                                data set information short
Additional symptom: An asterisk is displayed following the
number of tracks allocated to the data
set. This occurs for a mulltivolume
data set allocated greater that 20
                         volumes and contains canidate volumes
that are flagged with an asterisk in
                         the catalog. Example: 1515 tracks
                         displays as 1515* .

Comments

  • In order to get information from more than 20 volumes,
ISPF would have to change the interface it is using to obtain
the volume names. This is a larger design change than can
be contained in an apar. Therefore this apar is being closed
as a requirement for development consideration.
