In the 7.1.1.5 base services fix pack, the alternate key definition for object structures and the inbound processing logic has improved support for indexing of business objects.

The integration framework object structures now support alternate indexes associated with business objects. The field Alternate Key has been added to the Source Objects table window in the Object Structures application. In the Alternate Key field, you can select a defined index value.
The inbound processing logic processes the alternate key and primary key in the following order:
1. Object structure alternate key, if configured
2. Business object alternate key, if configured and no object structure alternate key is configured
3. Business object primary key, if no object structure alternate key or business object alternate key is configured
A business object can support only one alternate key. Object structures that have multiple instances of the same business object enforce the definition of a single alternate key. When an alternate key is assigned or updated, the same alternate key value is registered to each instance of the business object.
