IEE345I MODIFY authority invalid for CL/SS when running z/OS 1.8 or higher

Troubleshooting


Problem

Your CL/Supersession (CL/SS) address space receives IEE345I messages for MVS MODIFY commands that you enter from a profile initial dialog. This occurs, after you convert your LPAR from a monoplex and add it to your MVS sysplex consisting of mixed releases of z/OS above V1.8.

Symptom

IEE345I MODIFY AUTHORITY INVALID, FAILED BY MVS

Cause

Missing a RACF profile to protect the MVS MODIFY command.

Environment

MVS sysplex with at least one z/OS V1.8 system or higher.

Resolving The Problem

Define a resource profile to your external security manager (ESM) product for the MVS MODIFY command. The resource-name for an MVS command has the following parts:

      MVS.command.command-qualifier.command object
