OA38215: KT1 CRASH BECAUSE RACE CONDITION IN CONNECTION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• TEMS logs show a a race condition between two threads,
  one thread is making use of a connection at the
  same time in which the cleanup thread is destroying it.

  SQL requests to the TEMS/RTEMS can result in a race
  condition during the
  freeing of stale connection handles.  Thus, two threads can
  be using a connnection handle that has
  already been released.
  

Problem conclusion

• Add a lock around the connection handling code so that only
  one thread can access a handle at a time.
