Problem
Controller system appears to hang (is unresponsive / busy) for all users whenever a consolidation job is being run in the background (e.g. by a different user). Similar symptoms appear if the customer tries to publish data to a Data Mart.
Symptom
Initially, there are multiple users using the Controller system. All user's sessions are running OK. Then one of the users initiates a consolidation. This sends the consolidation request to the batch queue. As soon as the batch job starts (which is approximately 1 minute after the user initiated it), all other user's sessions are affected.
- All users experience a system 'lock up', during which the Controller system is unresponsive (busy).
- When users try to logon to Controller (or perform any task) Controller appears to be 'Not Responding'.
Similar problems occur if a user sends a data mart publish job to the batchqueue.
