Error description

  • When a CICS situation is running and the CICS region goes away
a storage overlay may occur, resulting in various ABENDs:  S0C1,
S0D5 or S0C4.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a situation is using the           *
*                      CICSplex Temporary Storage Extended     *
*                      attribute group, it is possible that    *
*                      a storage overlay or ABEND may occur    *
*                      after a CICS region is shut down.       *
*                      Situations may also report against      *
*                      the wrong CICS region.                  *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
The collector for the CICSplex Temporary Storage Extended
attribute group may use a control block that is not for
the correct region or has been cleared because a CICS
region has been shutdown. This may result in a storage
overlay and/or an ABEND.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The collector for the CICSplex Temporary Storage Extended
now correctly reestablishes information about the monitored
CICS region each time.
