OA30461: UW16684 - MESSAGE GIM31901I RESULTS FROM PACKAGING ERROR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When ordering CICS TS 4.1, ptf UW60509 is superceded by H0Z2110.
  One of the prerequisites for UW60509 is UW16684, but this ptf
  is not superceded by H0Z2110.  So when applying maintenance a
  GIM31901I message may occur. as follows:
  
    UW16684 H0Z2110 GIM31901I 1 THIS SYSMOD DOES NOT PRE OR SUP
    UW60509, THE RMID OF EXEC CICSET THAT IS CURRENTLY INSTALLED.

Local fix

• Reject UW16684 from the global zone.  Then continue with the
  installation.

  The problem presented itself as a GIM31901I message issued
  by SMP/E.  This message was applicable to PTF's UW16884 and
  UW60509 thus:

  UW16684 H0Z2110 GIM31901I 1 THIS SYSMOD DOES NOT PRE OR SUP
  UW60509, THE RMID OF EXEC CICSET THAT IS CURRENTLY INSTALLED.

  When CICS Transaction Server V4R1 was shipped, a previous REXX
  PTF was marked as SUPERSEDED (SUP'd) by the FMID H0Z2110.
  The ordering of PTFs via GIMXSID means that UW16684 is still
  being ordered because it has not been SUPERSEDED. This results
  in an apply of it always being attempted even after a later
  PTF (UW60509) has been correctly applied.
  

Problem conclusion

• This apar ships a new PTF that SUP's both UW16684 and UW60509.
  

Temporary fix

• FIX AVAILABLE BY PTF ONLY
