APAR status

Error description

• AFP2PDF was unable to process an embedded PDF 1.2 file generated
  by Aladdin Ghostscript 6.0.1.  No message was produced.  Output
  contained a blank page where the embedded PDF single page object
  should have been.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: afp2pdf was unable to process an        *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the applicable PTF.                    *
  ****************************************************************
  The AFP to PCL, AFP to PDF, and AFP to PostScript transforms
  support PDF 1.4 documents that are embedded in AFP documents.
  However, the transforms do not support all PDF 1.2 documents.
  The AFP to PDF transform could not process this PDF 1.2 document
  because the PDF dictionary key entries were not as expected.
  

Problem conclusion

• The transforms can now process the embedded PDF 1.2 document
  that Aladdin Ghostscript 6.0.1 created.  Also, the transforms
  now write error message AOX0391W to the output when they cannot
  process a PDF document embedded in an AFP document.  The
  transforms do not create any output for the embedded PDF object
  or any following content.
  
  The text of the new message is:
  AOX0391W OBJECT CONTAINER name CANNOT BE PROCESSED
  
  When this message is issued, the named object container is not
  processed and the job terminates.  The reason can be that the
  container contains encrypted PDF, compressed (Acrobat 6 or 7)
  PDF, or is corrupted for some reason.
