Error description

  • Db2 Admin Tool Copy Catalog job may generate sqlcode =
-204/sqlcoden204 errors attempting to delete rows from Global
Temporary Tables (GTTs) that may not exist.  For example:

DELETE FROM SESSION.>tablename<

DSNT408I SQLCODE = -204, ERROR: SESSION.>tablename<
IS AN UNDEFINED NAME

This fix adds a check to see if a GTT exists before
trying to access it.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Batch Restart Program (ADBTEP2)     *
*                      tries to access global temporary tables *
*                      (GTTs) that do not exist, resulting in  *
*                      SQLCODE = -204 / sqlcoden204 errors.    *
****************************************************************
The Batch Restart Program (ADBTEP2) is checking for
the existence of GTTs by trying to access them. This may
result in a -204 error (object not defined) if the object does
not exist. The program has been changed to ensure the existence
of GTTs before trying to access them.
