PH18708: IZDS: ERROR COLLECTING SMF_42_5 RECORDS IN MVSPM COMPONENT

Error description

• Batch Collect of SMF rejects some SMF Type 42 Subtype 5 records
  with the following error message:
  A log record is skipped due to null in target GROUP BY column(s)
  The record is of type SMF_042_5 and it is number 1 in the log

  *                       is of type SMF_042_5 and it is number  *
  *                       n in the log. The target table of the  *
  *                       record is MVSPM_STORCLASS_H. Value for *
  *                       target column STORAGE_CLASS was set    *
  *                       to null due to error."                 *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  SMF type 42 subtype 5 record Storage Class Response Time
  Section length field SMF42SRL does not include the length of
  the synchronous I/O fields, when present.
  This could result in null values in field S42SCNAM.
  

Problem conclusion

• Length of the Storage Class Response Time Section is adjusted
  if there are synchronous I/O fields present, to avoid incorrect
  null values.
