Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CESL fails with abend AEY7 in DFHSNP. *
    ****************************************************************
CICS is initialised with SIT parameters CMDSEC=ALWAYS and
RESSEC=ALWAYS. Transaction CESL is invoked by a user who does
not have authority to issue EXEC CICS SET TERMINAL commands.
CESL starts running under the default CICS userid, which does
have that authority, and an EXEC CICS SET TERMINAL is used to
used to ensure CICS does not perform uppercase translation on
    input from the terminal.

The signon of the user is successful but an attempt to restore
the uppercase translation setting fails with NOTAUTH and
    abend AEY7.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS is changed so restoring the uppercase translation status
on completion of CESL does not require the userid being signed
on to have authority to issue an EXEC CICS SET TERMINAL request.
