    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
Administration Tool writes audit or command log records into
z/OS log stream using IXGWRITE macro. When a staging data set
of the log stream is being formatted, IXGWRITE macro returns
    a return code X'08' and a reason code X'0868'.
This error is a temporary error, but Administration Tool
    back-end erroneously issues a message ATY3702E and aborts a
    process.
In addition, the following IMS user exit load modules supplied
by IMS Administration Tool erroneously issue a message
    ATY8107E.
    - IMS Automated Operator user exit routine : ATYAOE00
    - IMS BPE exit routine : ATYOPST0

Problem conclusion

  • By this APAR, Administration Tool back-end suppresses a message
ATY3702E and continues a process even if IXGWRITE macro returns
    a return code X'08' and a reason code X'0868'.
When IMS Administration Tool back-end detects the return and
reason code, it does not write the log record and issue a
    message ATY3704I.

In addtion, ATYAOE00 and ATYOPST0 load modules have been
modified to suppress a message ATY8107E even if IXGWRITE
macro returns a return code X'08' and a reason code X'0868'.
When IMS Administration Tool detects the return and reason code,
it retries writing a log record until the end of formatting.
The retries continues up to 4 minutes. If the formatting does
not ended after 4 minutes, IMS Administration Tool stops
writing the log record and issues the message ATY8409I.
The load modules should be copied to the STEPLIB of IMS control
    region and OM region.
