Error description

• An unused variable or conditional style results in an error
  during validation. It should be a warning.
  This is the same for CQM and DQM.
  RSV-VAL-0001 Failed to validate the variable expression
  [Query1].[Quantity]>0 due to the missing item Quantity in any
  query.

Problem conclusion

• This is expected behavior and we have no plan to change the
  current design.
  
  When a variable is not being referenced, running the report will
  not cause an error. However, when we perform validation of a
  report, we evaluate all objects. Since we have no way to
  validate the variable expression, an error will be displayed.
