Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Messages DFHZC5916 and DFHZC5969 are * * seen after issuing SET CONNECTION * * RELEASED for an LU6.2 syncpoint level 1 * * autoinstalled connection on a CICS * * region that is registered to z/OS * * Communications Server as a generic * * resource. * **************************************************************** CEMT SET CONNECTION RELEASED was issued against an LU6.2 syncpoint level 1 autoinstalled connection on a CICS region that was registered as a z/OS Communications Server generic resource. When the last session for the connection was terminated, DFHZCLS checked flag TCSE_DELETE_SCHEDULED is not already set and then set it on before initiating transaction CATD to delete the connection. The CATD task was suspended on the load for DFHZATD. DFHZCLS issued message DFHZC3462, triggering a user DFHZNEP program that invoked EXEC CICS SET CONNECTION OUTSERVICE followed by EXEC CICS SET CONNECTION ENDAFFINITY. DFHZGCH attempted to delete the autoinstalled connection as part of ENDAFFINITY processing but did not check TCSE_DELETE_SCHEDULED before initiating a second CATD transaction. The first CATD task completed successfully and the second failed because the connection had already been deleted.
Problem conclusion
DFHZGCH has been changed to test tcse_delete_scheduled and, if it is already set on, it bypasses the attempt to delete the autoinstalled connection and a second CATD transaction is not initiated.
