    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS Service Flow Runtime currently *
    * uses JCL that is not compatible with *
    *                      Cobol v5 and higher.                    *
    ****************************************************************
    CICS Service Flow Runtime JCL does not support COBOL V5 and
    higher.
    This requires the following changes to be made:
    The main load library for SFR (SCIZLOAD) is
    currently created with: DSNTYPE=PDS.
    For Enterprise Cobol 5 and higher it must be:
    DSNTYPE=LIBRARY.

    The sample compiler JCL and procedure (DFHMAXCJ and DFHMAXCP)
    are used to complete the post-install tasks, which compile
    various programs required by SFR into SCIZLOAD. Currently, they
    are incompatible with Cobol V5 and higher.

    Sample DFHMAVUP (in hlq.SCIZLOAD) will not run with
    Cobol V5 and higher due to an incompatible file definition
    in a maclib file.

Problem conclusion

  • The necessary CICS SFR modules have been updated so that SFR
    can use Cobol 5.1 and higher.

    Updates to the:
    IBM Knowledge Center: Home > CICS Transaction Server for z/OS
    5.2.0 (and above) > CICS Service Flow Runtime, will detail the
    new requirements.
