Error description
You see the following messages on the console log: DFHWB0001 TESWMA5 An abend (code ---/AKEC) has occurred at offset X'FFFF' in module DFHWBSR. DFHAP0001 TESWMA5 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'00002508' in module DFHWBXN. . The abendAKEC is a runaway timeout that you know is caused by CICS using lots of CPU to process a very large ( many Megabytes ) chunked receive. The abend0C4 in DFHWBXN, in the aftermath of the AKEC , is unexpected and should not happen. . The abend0C4 is happening because DFHWBXN's recovery routine (which got control because of the AKEC) is trying to use WRB_PTR but that has not been setup yet. Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVDWZ
Local fix
Increase ICVR so that the abendAKEC never happens
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend 0C4 in module DFHWBXN following a * * runaway condition (abend AKEC) detected * * in DFHWBSR RECEIVE processing. * **************************************************************** CICS is set up to receive HTTP requests. A very large request (several MB in size) is sent to CICS in many small chunks. A CWXN task is attached to receive the chunks and reconstruct the HTTP request. Due to the large number of chunks involved, the CWXN task is able to run continually on the SO TCB until the ICVR limit is reached. At this point the task is abended AICA. The DFHWBSR recovery routine gets control and returns to DFHWBXN without providing the address of the web request block (WRB). As part of the error processing DFHWBXN attempts to update fields within the WRB and suffers an ABEND0C4. Additional keywords: S0C4 ABENDS0C4 ABENDAKEC ABENDAICA
Problem conclusion
DFHWBXN has been updated to ensure it correctly addresses the web request block following a severe error in DFHWBSR.
