Error description

  • when doing a search in a very big dataset (more than 100.000.000
    lines),  ispf browse searches and shows only till line
    99.999.999.   ispf shows after the 99 999 999 line the message
    'bottom of data'.  this is a misleading message since there
    are more lines of data.

    *                      to read past the maximum supported      *
    *                      number of records, Browse fails to      *
    *                      indicate that an internal limit has     *
    *                      been reached and more data exists.      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    Browse did not check for the situation when the number of
    records exceeded its internal design limitations.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Browse is changed to detect when the available number of records
    in a dataset exceeds its design limits.
