Unable to test ODBC datasource connection: QE-DEF-0285 RQP-DEF-0068 UDA-SQL-0031

Troubleshooting


Problem

When trying to add a data source connection in Cognos Connection to an MS Access database (.mdb file) using ODBC, the below error message is seen when the connection is tested. The MS Access database is sitting on a network drive, and the Cognos service is being run under a domain account that has full access to the shared network folder.

Symptom

QE-DEF-0285 The logon failed. QE-DEF-0325 The logon failed for the following reason: RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in:
testDataSourceConnection
UDA-SQL-0031 Unable to access the "testDataSourceConnection" database. UDA-SQL-0107 A general exception has occurred during the operation "attach".[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] '(unknown)' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
