Cognos service will not start - CM-CFG-5023 Content Manager is unable to initialize the content store by using the initialization file

Troubleshooting


Problem

Just installed Cognos and but it is failing to start the service for the first time. Keep getting the errors below in the cogserver.log. Upon checking the Content Store there are only some of the Tables for the Content Store when there should be more.

Symptom

1. StartService Warning CM-CFG-5063 A Content Manager configuration error was detected while connecting to the content store.
CM-CFG-5073 An unexpected event occurred while loading object class definitions into the content store.

Io exception: Connection reset

2. CM-CFG-5023 Content Manager is unable to initialize the content store by using the initialization file "..\\cognos\configuration\schemas\content\oracle\dbInitScript_oracle.sql".
ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object
