Error description

Message sent from IMS to WAS via WOLA in LLZZ format but
the flag passed to the adapter indicates it is in LLLLZZ
format is making the Servant region to abend with U4087.

Local fix

call the setOTMARequestLLZZ(1) and setOTMAResponseLLZZ(1)
methods on the com.ibm.websphere.ola.ConnectionSpecImpl object
that you pass to the getConnection() call before sending this
message.

When sending a message from IMS to Websphere via WOLA a
request/response prefix style is required to be supplied. When
the
supplied style differs from the actual supplied data an abend
occurs. The mismatch causes a misinterpretation of data, causing
the abend condition.

Problem conclusion

Code has been added to correctly check the supplied message
length in order to verify valid values. In scenarios where a
mismatch occurs between provided data and the designated
request/response prefix style an error, instead of an abend,
will occur.

APAR PI16062 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs
8.0.0.10 and 8.5.5.4 of WebSphere Application Server.
