Error description

  • Customer is using WebSphere Batch in WebSphere V8.5.5.1 and the
    Job Scheduler is not recovering from database disconnect.
    The logs indicate StaleConnectionExceptions as below.

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

  • When the endpoint server encounters a StaleConnectionException,
    it will now attempt to obtain another connection and retry the
    operation. All other types of SQLException will be propagated
    to the caller to handle.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.2.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
