PI12824: CHC9703E DB2 LOG CACHE DLL "PUTCACHE" COMPLETED ABNORMALLY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The following error message is indicated in the started task
  joblog:
  CHC9703E DB2 Log Cache DLL "PutCache" request has completed
  abnormally.
  The return code is rcFatal for value of 1,
  Diagnostic information (dlrLogProcessor;
  CDC attempts to place duplicate records in the Log Cache.
  The Log Cache logic forbids this and terminates the cache in
  order to protect data integrity.

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  After an IFI READS call ends with certain reason codes, IIDR CDC
  for z/OS does not turn on filtering, which can lead to an
  attempt to cache duplicate records in the Log Cache.  The Log
  Cache logic forbids this on the grounds of data integrity and
  the Log Cache shuts itself down.
  

Problem conclusion

• IIDR CDC for z/OS now enables filtering after the relevant
  reason codes are received from DB2, thereby preventing duplicate
  records from being cached in the Log Cache.
