Error description

  • When a TASK completes a wait for SO_LTERDC the SOLOCK is
    obtained before checking the current error response. If the
    wait ends abnormally (for example the task is purged) then
    DFHSORD assumes the attempt to get the lock failed and
    immediately exits, still holding the lock.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The SOLOCK is obtained and can never *
    * be released when completing a wait for *
    *                      SO_LTERDC, which is ended abnormally.   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    CICS command SET TCPIPSERVICE CLOSED is issued in an
    application. This application gets in to DFHSORD deregister
    processing. It will post the listener task to perform the
    deregister and wait on SO_LTERDC.

    When the wait is ended, DFHSORD continues the process without
    checking the wait response. It then obtains the SOLOCK. If
    the wait response is not ok, DFHSORD assumes the attempt to
    get the lock failed and immediately exits, still holding the
    lock. This will cause the SOLOCK to never be released and all
    further socket related activity will hang.
