PI47176: FAST PATH DEDB UPDATE REPORT SHOWS INCORRECT UPDATES/SEC RATE AND TRANSACTION INDEX EXCEPTION CRITERIA INCORRECT

Error description

• 1. The Fast Path DEDB Update report may calculate an incorrect
  Updates/Sec rate where the updates occur over an elapsed time
  period of less than 1 second. In one case numbers were seen
  as very high, such as 15772.8, 250000.0 or 204081.6.
  2. The Transaction Index exception criteria for transactions may
  be incorrectly applied, resulting in incorrect output.

  This APAR addresses the following issues:
  1. The Fast Path DEDB Update report may calculate an incorrect
     Updates/Sec rate where the updates occur over an elapsed
     time period of less than 1 second.
  2. The Transaction Index extract may apply exception criteria
     to extract processing. If an elapsed time threshold was
     supplied, the resulting value may have been corrupted during
     conversion before being passed to the routine extracting the
     Transaction Index, resulting in incorrect output.
  

Problem conclusion

• The following changes have been made for the
  1. If the elapsed time over which Fast Path database updates
     occur is less than 1 second, the rate reported will be the
     actual number of updates applied. Previously, if the elapsed
     time was less than 1 second, the rate reported was
     extrapolated to what would have occurred if the updates were
     applied continuously for a period of 1 second.
  2. Correct the formatting of the time value specified for
     exception criteria processing.
